What does EV charging software cost per charge point? (Germany, 2026)

In short
- Charging software (a charge point management system, CPMS) is usually billed per charge point per month.
- Of the vendors we checked, only reev and Monta publish full prices: reev from €10.25 net per charge point per month, Monta from €5 per AC socket per month plus a platform fee from €500 per month.
- Expect extra lines for a mobile data SIM (reev: €4.50 per month), payment fees if drivers or guests pay, and sometimes a setup or licence fee.
- AMPECO, chargecloud, Wirelane and The Mobility House quote on request.
- Compare the total per charger per year, including SIM and fees, and check that load management, §14a EnWG control and reports are included.
Charging software is the layer that connects your chargers over OCPP and decides when and how fast each vehicle charges. It also handles access, billing and reports. For a fleet it is a running cost for as long as the chargers are in use, so the monthly price per charge point adds up. We checked the published price pages of the main providers in Germany on 31 October 2026.
Published prices, October 2026
| Provider and plan | Price model | Published price | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| reev Pro | Per charge point per month | €10.25 net, plus SIM €4.50 per month | Load management, driver app, billing, THG quota, §14a EnWG control. A licence key covers the first 24 months; the monthly fee applies from month 25. |
| reev Business | Per charge point per month | €14.90 net, plus SIM €4.50 per month | Adds multi-account, automated reports, solar-optimised charging, time-based pricing and an API. |

| Monta Advanced | Per socket per month, plus platform and transaction fee | AC €5, DC €8 per socket per month; platform fee from €500 per month | Shown for operators with 200 or more charge points. The page does not say whether prices are net or gross. |
| AMPECO | On request | Not published | Platform for charge point operators. |
| chargecloud | On request | Not published | Includes a depot product. |
| Wirelane (WirelaneOS) | On request | Not published | Eichrecht billing with compliant hardware. |

What adds to the monthly price
- Connectivity: chargers without a network cable need a mobile data SIM, billed per month.
- Payment fees: when drivers, employees or guests pay by card, expect a percentage plus a fixed amount per transaction. reev, for example, lists 3.10% plus €0.10 for national and EU cards and 1.50% plus €0.30 for SEPA.
- Platform or account fees: some providers charge a fixed monthly fee on top of the per-socket price.
- Setup and onboarding: rarely published. Ask whether connecting existing chargers, importing vehicles and training are included.
- Licence periods: some prices assume a prepaid licence for the first years, with a monthly fee only afterwards.
A simple way to compare
Work out the cost per charger per year, everything included. For a fleet with 20 AC chargers on reev Pro after the licence period, that is 20 × (€10.25 + €4.50) × 12, about €3,540 a year, before payment fees. On Monta Advanced, 20 AC sockets cost €100 a month, but the platform fee from €500 a month dominates at that size, which is why it is aimed at larger operators.
Then check what the price includes. For a depot, the features that change your energy bill matter most: dynamic load management, scheduling around departure times, §14a EnWG control and monthly cost reports per vehicle.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Does it work with our chargers over OCPP, and can we move them to another backend later?
- Is load management based on real measurements at the grid connection?
- Are SIM cards, payment fees and support included or billed separately?
- What does onboarding cost, and how long does it take?
- Is the price net or gross, and how long is it fixed?
- Who do we call when a charger fails, and at what hours?
How much does charging software cost per charge point in Germany?
Published prices in October 2026 ranged from €5 per AC socket per month (Monta Advanced, plus a platform fee from €500 per month) to €10.25 and €14.90 net per charge point per month (reev Pro and Business, plus €4.50 per month for a SIM). Most other providers quote on request.
Is load management included in the software price?
It depends on the plan. reev includes static and dynamic load management from its Pro plan, and Monta includes smart charging in Advanced. Check the plan description, because some providers sell energy management as a separate product.
Do we need software if we only have a few company chargers?
For a handful of chargers without billing, the manufacturer’s app may be enough. Once several vehicles share a limited grid connection, or costs have to be split per vehicle or driver, charging software pays for itself through lower peaks and less manual work.
What does jump.ac cost?
jump.ac quotes per project after a first call, because sites, grid connections and the services needed differ. A pilot on one site is priced before anything starts.
